Beijing art officials are confessing their embarrassment after a thief on May 8th knocked a hole in the wall of one of the city's most historic sites and made off with millions of dollars worth of valuables that were on loan to the Palace Museum. Wang said the seven stolen items were gold and silver pillboxes, some of which were encrusted with jewels.

   Wellington R. Burt was a rich timber baron from Saginaw, Mich. He died in 1919 with a multimillion-dollar fortune -- one of America's largest at the time. Now that it's 21 years since the death of the last grandchild, the fortune is finally being turned over to Cameron and 11 others, including three great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and another great-great-great grandchild. The fortune is valued at more than $100 million.

The Class That Built Apps, and Fortunes

    The studens assignment was to design an app and get people to use it. The students ended up getting millions of users for free apps that they designed to run on Facebook. Advertisers started to come in and these students started making lots of money, some more than their professors. Such successes helped inspire entrepreneurs to ditch business plans and work on apps.

Osama bin Laden Dead

After a decade of searching the man behind the Sept. 11 attacks was killed in an operation led by the U.S., President Obama. Many gathered in front of the white house in celebration as the news spread. Officials  say they believe the death puts bin Laden's al-Qaida on a path of decline that will be difficult to reverse. Obama spoke with Bush and former President Bill Clinton Sunday night to inform them of the developments.
